Who we are
The Centro Sub Corato APS ETS was founded in May 2003 as a non- profit Cultural-Recreational Association , immediately engaged in the dissemination of the Culture of the Sea and in the practice of recreational and non-recreational diving .
From July 2019 the Centro Sub Corato APS ETS has been transformed into Social Promotion Association , adapting to the new legislation relating to the Third Sector ( DL117 / 2017 ), and is written in the Register of Social Promotion Associations ( Regional Law 18 December 2007 n.39 art.4 - Legislative Decree n.117 / 2017) with the number 795 / BA .
Equipped with three specific sectors on aspects that have always distinguished it: Underwater , Archeology and Environment , it has always participated, in a decisive way, in numerous projects and activities of a scientific and popular nature. aimed at the knowledge , protection and enhancement of the Marine Environment and Submerged Heritage .
The Corato APS ETS Sub Center it is open to anyone who loves the sea and is sensitive to issues relating to Underwater , Archeology , Protection and Enhancement of Submerged Heritage and to the Environment , offering the possibility of registration even to those who do not have a diving license .

Our goals
The Centro Sub Corato APS ETS , with its three sectors Underwater , Archeology and Environment , aims to pursue the following objectives:
Dissemination of the culture of the sea and underwater practice, for personal growth and social promotion ;
Scientific R esearch, Study and Promotion of Cultural Heritage and Naturalistic submerged and emerged;
Dissemination of the culture of natural and archaeological heritage and cooperation with universities , schools , research institutes and national and foreign cultural centers;
Marine monitoring , enhancement and protection of the underwater and coastal environment ;
Educate to respect the marine and terrestrial environment and the landscape in all its forms;
Comprehensive diving training for scientific purposes ;
Underwater , archaeological and naturalistic hiking.

Retired English teacher. He is a diving instructor (IDEA teaching) and was the founder of the Centro Sub Corato APS ETS.
Trained in Ustica in the early 90s, he conceived the Approach Course to Underwater Archeology (2011), now in its tenth edition, through which he trains divers and issues the Artifiact Diver certificate according to the IDEA teaching method.
He collaborates with Reef Check Italia Onlus in the Coastal Environment Monitoring Project for which he is also EcoDiver MAC Trainer.

Graduated in Cultural Heritage Sciences (L-1) and in Archeology (LM-2), specialized at the School of Specialization in Archaeological Heritage of the University of Bari "Aldo Moro" with an experimental thesis in Underwater Archeology (L-ANT/10) he is currently a doctoral student in Mediterranean Archaeological, Historical, Architectural and Landscape Heritage (XXXVIII cycle ) and carried out a semester of research at the "Centre Camille Jullian", in the "Maison Méditerranéenne des Sciences de l'Homme" (MMSH), of the Université d'Aix-Marseille in Aix-en-Provence (France).

Therefore, he is a professional qualified to carry out interventions on Cultural Heritage pursuant to art. 9 bis of the Code of Cultural Heritage and Landscape (Legislative Decree 42/2004).

He has a degree in Economics and Commerce, I worked as an accountant for some years.
A precious collaborator for the Alta Murgia National Park Authority since 2004, the year of its establishment, where he works as an Environmental Hiking Guide. It is part of the AIGAE (Italian Association of Environmental Hiking Guides) and of the AFNI (Italian Naturalist Photographers Association). Passionate about ornithology, he is part of the LIPU and collaborated with the Park Authority in the preparation of the notebook on diurnal birds of prey. A member of the Archeoclub of Italy, he also participated in numerous excavations carried out in Murgia in the 1980s. He is also a passionate nature photographer, he collaborates in the realization of numerous photographic exhibitions and, in my capacity as guide and photographer, he has collaborated in the realization of numerous documentaries on nature broadcast by RAI.
